Results of impact of grading harmonisation survey

Results from an online industry survey conducted in 2008 to assess the impact that grading harmonisation has had on the industry in Wales.

In October 2007 Visit Wales’ grading schemes for serviced, self catering and hostels sector were harmonised with schemes operated by Visit England, Visit Scotland and the AA.

In 2008, we conducted an online survey to assess the impact that harmonisation has had on the industry in Wales.

The results of the research are now available to download,

We arranged a series of meetings in March and April 2009 with trade representatives of tourist associations as well as local authority tourism officers, regional tourism partnerships and regional tourism companies.  The purpose of these small meetings was to discuss the findings in detail.  We also used this opportunity to seek views on alternative schemes to grading, and gather opinion on how best to develop these schemes in the future.
