Social housing rents

Information on the average weekly rents for self-contained dwellings rented from local authorities and registered social landlords (RSLs) as set at 31 March each year for the following financial year e.g. set at 31 March 2012 for the 2012-13 financial year.

Data on social housing rents are collected from local authorities and registered social landlords on an annual basis.

The information in this release is used by the Welsh Government to establish and monitor the average weekly rents charged by local authorities and RSLs by property type across Welsh authorities and to make comparisons with the rent levels set for social housing each year under the existing social housing rent policy.

As of March 2012, headlines and releases on social housing rents include information on social housing stock. Prior to this stock information was combined with social housing rent arrears.
