The latest National Statistics on results of the teacher assessments of non-core subjects at Key Stage 3 for Wales 2008 produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 4 September 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.

UK Statistics Authority website Statistics on attainment in the non-core subjects at Key Stage 3 includes final data for Wales for the 2008 teacher assessments.

The key points for 2008 are:

  • The percentage of pupils achieving level 5 (the expected level) or above varied from 76.4 per cent in Information Technology to 54.1 per cent in Welsh 2nd language.
  • Girls performed better than boys in all subjects apart from in Physical Education, where boys outperformed girls
