Registered Social Landlords: Statutory Sales, April to June 2008

The latest National Statistics on statutory sales of registered social landlord (RSL) dwellings produced by the Welsh Assembly Government were released on 17 September 2008 according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority.
UK Statistics Authority Website Statistics on the number of statutory sales of registered social landlord (RSL) dwellings completed in Wales include data for the quarter April to June 2008.  The latest release updates the statistics previously released on 11 June 2008.

The key points from the latest release are:

  • During the April to June quarter 2008 there were 25 statutory sales of registered social landlord dwellings, with 24 being sold via Right to Buy and 1 being sold via Right to Acquire.
  • The total number of sales has increased by 4 from the January to March 2008 figure, and increased by 15 from the corresponding quarter of the previous year.
  • Sales under the Right to Buy scheme increased by 21 from the same quarter of 2007-08, and sales under the Right to Acquire scheme decreased by 6.
  • Since October 1980, a total of 2,427 RSL dwellings have been sold via statutory sales, 96 per cent of which have been sold via Right to Buy.
