NHS Wales Waiting Times: At end October 2007

This statistical release shows information on waiting times for admission as an inpatient or day case and for a first outpatient appointment. The release also contains information on specific cataract and cardiac waiting times targets.

Please note that waiting times for diagnostic endoscopies are no longer reported in the data series.

Waiting times for admission to hospital as an in-patient or day case

  • The number waiting over 22 weeks on the inpatient/day case list fell over the month from 7,473 to 6,996.

Waiting times for a first out-patient appointment

  • The number waiting over 22 weeks on the outpatient list fell over the month from 16,997 to 14,820.

Waiting times for specific targeted procedures

To be achieved from 1 April 2004:

  • The number of people waiting more than 4 months for cataract surgery remained at 0.

Cardiac Target - To be achieved by 1 April 2007:

  • The number of people waiting more than 6 months for a first outpatient cardiology appointment rose over the month from 1 to 2.
  • The number of people waiting more than 4 months for angiography remained at 0
  • The number of people waiting more than 6 months for cardiac revascularisation remained at 0.

All figures relating to 31 October 2007 are provisional.
