Equipping those working in Community Safety Partnerships with the right skills is important if we are to achieve lasting reductions in crime and the fear of crime. We are working to develop these skills through providing training and development.

Representatives of our 22 partnerships have been awarded Associate Trainer status by the Home Office Crime Reduction Centre. Four have been awarded Advanced Associate status. In total during 2005/06 over 120 individuals have received foundation training in Crime Reduction and Community Safety.

We also provide specialist training in specific areas, for instance:

  • anti-social behaviour
  • statistical analysis
  • Prolific and Other Priority Offenders
  • business crime reduction.

Criminal activity is constantly evolving and to help meet new challenges during 2006/07 we will deliver a series of workshops looking at:

  • criminal damage
  • vehicle crime
  • violence.
