Keeping private housing in good condition is mainly the responsibility of the owner. However, some owners may find it difficult to find the money to keep their homes properly maintained. These people may be able to get financial help from their local authority.

Elderly and disabled people may find that a few changes to their homes mean the difference between continuing to live in their own home and moving into care. We provide funding to Care and Repair agencies who help make these improvements and enable people to go on living in their own homes.
