Carers

Carers

The Welsh Government is committed to improving the lives of carers in Wales

Carers are people who provide unpaid care for family members and friends who need care, help or support. There are estimated to be more that 340,000 carers in Wales.

Young Carers Toolkit

This website has been developed for professionals in health, education and social services who have contact with young carers and young adult carers. This support is a priority within the Carers Strategy for Wales.

Young carers up to age 18 care and support a family member who is disabled, physically or mentally ill, or affected by substance misuse.

Young adult carers are aged 18 to 25.

The site provides tools to help professionals identify and engage with young carers and young adult carers.
