Individual and collective roles and responsibilities for health
A 12-month research programme was established, exploring perceptions of individual and collective responsibility for health from different viewpoints, including:
- Individuals;
- statutory organisations;
- voluntary/ community organisations;
- the private sector;
- the media.
Three research studies were conducted:
- focus groups with members of the public;
- interviews with representatives across health, local government, education, voluntary/community organisations and the private sector;
- pilot survey with representatives across the business, education and local government sectors in Wales.
The research demonstrates that everyone has a part to play in improving health from the individual to organisational level. Options have been identified for action at each level.
