Grants and funding
The Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Division has responsibility for the administration of a number of grants and funding streams.
- the Advancing Equalities Fund
- the Inclusion Grant
- Gypsy and Traveller New Sites and Refurbishment Grant
- funding for the International Women’s Day events
Proposed New Grants Programme
The Welsh Government has been considering the future grant structure around equalities and inclusion following the end of the current Advancing Equality Fund and Inclusion Grant. We have consulted on a proposed new grant framework and a summary of the responses received is available on the "Grants Consultation Document" page. This is available for download under "Related links".
We had orginally anticipated that the new grant framework would be awarded from October 2013, with an invitation for applications in April. The Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty, who has responsibility for equalities and inclusion, has decided to delay the launch of the new grants framework for six months, to commence in April 2014. This will enable the Minister to consider grant funding across the Communities and Tackling Poverty portfolio as well as allowing greater engagement with the third sector on the future Equality and Inclusion Grant. We will provide a timetable in due course and anticipate inviting applications for funding under the Equality and Inclusion Grant in the summer.
Organisations who received the Advancing Equality Fund and Inclusion Grant in 2012-13 had previously been offered an extension of their funding up to September 2013. The Minister for Communities and Tackling Poverty has agreed to extend existing grant funding for a further six months covering the period October 2013 - March 2014, subject to the agreement of appropriate objectives, and to current terms and conditions.
