Identifying priority areas

We published environmental noise action plans in January 2009 under the Environmental Noise Directive. Following this, we have developed procedures for implementing parts of the Directive.

As part of this work, and after a consultation in May 2011, we have undertaken technical checks and further investigations with local authorities and trunk road agencies.

We have decided to create 185 noise action planning priority areas. These are shown in the maps below.
