Local Environmental Quality incorporates a wide range of issues affecting our local environment and quality of life. These include all types of litter, graffiti, fly-posting, fly-tipping, dog fouling, as well as statutory nuisances such as noise.

Local Authorities have the primary role as community leaders in improving Local Environmental Quality. Important Local Environmental Quality work is also being undertaken by organisations such as Natural Resources Wales, Keep Wales Tidy and many other voluntary groups helping Wales become cleaner, safer and tidier.
