If you stun and slaughter animals, you are likely to require a licence in accordance with the Welfare of Animals (Slaughter or Killing) Regulations 1995. Failure to comply with the requirements of these Regulations in this regard, carries a maximum fine of £1,000 on conviction.
Captive bolt equipment is no longer subject to fire arms legislation (since 1998). Users must be familiar with safety procedures and manufacturers instructions.
