Reducing poverty, particularly persistent poverty, in some of our poorest areas and communities is at the centre of the Welsh Government’s policy agenda.

Eradicating child poverty by 2020 remains a fundamental priority for the Welsh Government and this commitment is reflected in the Tackling Poverty Action Plan for Wales.

We recognise that to tackle Child Poverty we must also tackle Poverty as a whole, which includes working with children, young people and adults.

The Tackling Poverty Action Plan brings together the contributions made by the Welsh Government as a whole, while keeping a strong focus on child poverty.

The Tackling Poverty Action Plan incorporates the three strategic objectives contained within the Child Poverty Strategy 2010.
