This guidance details the principles and describes the joint working and liaison arrangements between the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and the Fire and Rescue Services (FRSs).
The objective of the arrangements is to deliver a coordinated and nationally consistent approach to fire safety in hazardous installations, previously designated as special premises. These arrangements are also detailed in HSE Operational Circular OC 217/06. The guidance was completed by Fire and Rescue Services professionals, the HSE, Scottish Executive and Shell UK.
