Jane Hutt welcomes reappointment of Equalities Commissioner for Wales

The appointment was announced today by the Home Office.

Jane Hutt said:

"Ann has made a significant contribution promoting equality issues in Wales since being appointed Commissioner for Wales in December 2009.  She has been a strong voice for Wales on the EHRC board and I am delighted that she will be continuing in this role.  

"The Welsh Government has been working hard to create a Wales where everyone can live in a society which is safe and where there is fairness.  We want people from all backgrounds to live together harmoniously in a country where discrimination is not tolerated.  

"I look forward to continuing to work closely with Ann on these important issues and tackling inequality in Wales."
