The National Science Academy (NSA) scheme provides discretionary financial support to the delivery of STEM engagement and activities. The scheme is targeting activities for school ages from foundation up to the 14 to 19 age range, as well as further and higher education institutions.
Chief Scientific Adviser for Wales Professor John Harries is encouraging bids before the closing deadline of 24 August.
Professor Harries said:
"It is vital that we encourage the growth of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics in Wales. We must broaden and deepen our skills base if we are to achieve economic recovery for the long term. We need to raise the impact of STEM across Wales.”
Activities include workshops, challenges, after-school science clubs, staff development opportunities, public lectures and debates held across the private and public sectors.
STEM providers include STEM societies, UK professional bodies which are represented in Wales, learned societies, schools, further education and higher education institutions, training providers and careers companies.
The National Science Academy (NSA) was launched by the Welsh Government in 2010 as a collaborative alliance of organisations with STEM interests.
