The Government of Wales Act 2006 enhanced the law making powers of the Assembly and enabled a referendum to be held on whether the Assembly should have further law making powers.
Part 4 and Schedule 6 to the Government of Wales Act 2006 made provision for the holding of a referendum. Schedule 7 to the Government of Wales Act details the subjects that the Assembly will be able to legislate about, because the proposal for further law making powers was approved in the referendum.
