Leighton Andrews, Deputy Minister for Regeneration

The purpose of this statement is to detail the outcome of the Community Facilities and Activities Programme (CFAP) April 2009 Bidding Round.

A total of 104 eligible applications were received when the bidding round closed in April 2009. These were then assessed by my officials against the published criteria for the programme. Both the Minister for Social Justice and  Local Government and I considered the advice received on the applications and have decided to approve grants for 48 projects across Wales.

The approval of the 48 projects commits £7 million from the Welsh Assembly Government over three financial years.  CFAP therefore continues to deliver  significant resources to communities across Wales, many of them in our most deprived areas.
